Phoenix point festering skies dlc8/11/2023 Umbras, alone, are reason enough to disable this DLC-permanently. Forget everything I bitched about in the convoluted quest chain. … And then there are Umbras, which just suck. Then wait for the excavation to finish before returning to clean it out. And then return to a site to start an excavation. And then the need to build probes and then fly all over the planet to launch them then wait for them to scan the entire planet. Oh, I forgot about rescue mission at the beginning and the need to build archeology labs. Legacy of the Ancients is what happens when someone plays too much Destiny 2 gets bogged down in a whole bunch of convoluted exotic weapons quest chains, and thinks, “Yeah, let’s do that in Phoenix Point.” Sure, the exotic weapons are sweet an powerful, but we have to do so many god damn mission just to get the blueprints then the resources then the resource processing sites then station an aircraft on the resource site. If the Pure appeared much later in a campaign and was more, what’s the word, “balanced”, this DLC could be good. Cool! But you get a new early game enemy-The Pure-that are just brutal to fight with low level squads with basic gear. Blood & Titanium: cybernetic enhancements are expensive armour upgrades that, to be honest, really aren’t with the cost. ![]() ![]() Nevertheless, it really doesn’t hurt your campaign too much to enable it. When playing on Legend, you really need to get those three missions done in the early game, but they almost always spawn on the other side of the planet, so good luck with that. All great stuff-especially when playing on Legend, where soldiers come without weapons or armour. A super powerful suit of armour, acid spewing assault rifle, and poison spewing machine gone. So the more DLC you enable, the worse the game becomes.įor the best experience: turn them all off. If you don't agree and/or have any suggestions, please let me know.Įach DLC downgrades the game in its own way. I never was able to find the corrupted nest in two playthroughs when all of my A-team had full Ancient gears, full stats, and fully skilled. Unless I'm super low on budget and is forced to use only salvaged independent gears, living weapons' only benefit seems like it's ammo-free.Ĭorruption: Have tried mutiods, but the rewards are just not there to get that corruption status especially when you're low on will points. Living armor is somewhat good, but living weapons? not sure. Living weapons: I don't hate this DLC I just don't see its benefits. I could turn this on and just not make Scyther not sure if I'll be able to overcome the temptation. Phoenix Point was released for PC and Mac in December 2019 and for Google Stadia in January 2021.I'm going for a legendary campaign this time, and am thinking about NOT using all the DLCs.Īncient: Terminator trivializes all late game battles so I think I might remove this, but then there won't be any end game gears. The game is set in 2047 with Earth under attack from an alien force and players acting as the leader of a cell in a secretive organisation called the Phoenix Project. Phoenix Point is billed as a spiritual successor to the X-COM series, which was created by studio head Julian Gollop. The console version will include all of the previously released DLC. In addition, the game’s PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are planned to launch in Q4 2021. The next, fourth DLC is titled Corrupted Horizons and is planned to launch in late summer 2021, with the fifth DLC to follow in winter. ![]() Regular monthly updates will continue to add quality-of-life upgrades and gameplay tweaks, alongside occasional free cosmetic items. ![]() The launch of Festering Skies comes with the reveal of a new roadmap for future content and releases for the game. It will also be available on GOG.com and Google Stadia soon. It is available for PC and Mac through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store individually for $9.99, or as part of a $14.99 Expansion Pass that grants access to two future DLC.
